A Wintry Weekend Recap

Hey! Hey!  Happy Monday friends!

Unless you live under a rock or somewhere West, you likely know much of the East coast was attacked by a little storm named Jonas this weekend.

The babes were so excited when they woke up and saw a blanket of snow outside.

I was afraid Hanky wouldn't like it this year, but to my surprise he LOVED it.

The kids frolicked and played until I had to beg them to come inside.

Speaking of inside, I have to admit I sort of love being snowed in at times.  Luckily I hit up the grocery store for the last 2 gallons of chocolate milk and plenty of supplies.

I embraced my inner Ina Garten and whipped up a few favorites...

The babes helped me make some Rice Krispie treats.

Then they slumbered..

I walked and caught up on Downton Abby.

Annndddd...We played a lot of Monopoly. Carsyn's strategy was to buy everything she lands on and Hank's was to save his money and not buy anything.

So, where all y'all at? Are you still snowed in?

Greetings and Recap

Hello friends!

Figured I'd do a little recap of what's been going on.

You probably know if you follow me on Insta that I fell a little over a week ago and broke my foot.

I have a fracture at my fifth metatarsal and the Orthopedic surgeon told me to take it easy and wear my boot and use my crutches and I might not have to have surgery.

I was sitting at the Doctor's office awaiting my boot when a nice fella sitting next to me asked what happened. I told him that I fell down my front steps chasing a cat and fractured my foot. I asked what happened to him and he told me he fell down a goat hill in Afghanistan.

#humbled

I asked if I could steal his story to sound more heroic but so far nobody's buying it.  In all seriousness I've wallowed in a bit of self pity but that put things in a bit of perspective. At this point I'm telling myself I'm fortunate I didn't crack my head open or injure my foot worse. Supposedly it would have been worse if I'd torn my tendon, but thanks to running those are nice and strong. So when my ankle turned over my tendon stretched but my bone snapped.

And when I get really down and can't sleep I watch Flo videos on youtube.

I mean if she can get through Ship to Wreck without hopping of that stool and breaking it down surely I can make it a few more weeks.  Hmmm..... wonder how she broke her foot? Maybe I'll google her story and use it?

Ok.  Back to my own problems.

My foot hurts a little still, but mainly wearing the boot is just annoying. I've been taking it really easy though. Rosie and Shane have been taking care of me and the kids. So grateful for those two!

Speaking of which I think Rosie might be doing my job better anyway.

Kids in coordinated outfits out shopping and posted on Instagram!

She manages to drop the kids off at school ON TIME and bring me home Starbucks. Then proceeds to do my laundry. And clean.  And cook dinner.

#silverlining

So enough about that...

Last weekend was all about Midnight, Carsyn's class pet. Each weekend a different student gets to take Midnight home with them and keep a journal of everything they do. To say Carsyn was excited is an understatement.

Here she is the day she got him.

They went to the library..

And then loaded up to head to EKY for visits at "Camp Rosie" and Shane's mom and dad's house.

Midnight visited the local pizza shop and got to plow potatoes with Pops and Hank.

Saturday Midnight got to visit my bestie's house for her daughter's birthday party.

Midnight also got to have a tea party in the playhouse Sunday morning.

When I broke my foot I laughed and told Shane I'd finally get to ride one of those motorized scooters at the grocery store.

I took midnight along to buy snacks for the classroom for the week and we tore up those aisles..

They see me rollin..

Here we are looking "bootylicious" at Meijer.

This weekend I got a little scared because my foot hurt a lot and I figured I'd be feeling much better.

I made it to Carsy's ballet lessons on Saturday but other than that I just alternated between Fox News and Hallmark movies.

Its ok though..I had these littles to snuggle up to.

And Carsyn picked out some movies for us to watch together.

I kid.  I did not let her get that!! But it was seriously what she picked.

This kid.  Such personality.  But she did a wonderful job picking out her own outfit Monday :)

So that's about it.. How are y'all?

Got any broken foot advice for me?  Hopefully just 2 more weeks!

Weekend Recap

Happy Tuesday lovelies!

We are amidst ballet camp this week so while I'm getting a lot done since this is my first week of no traveling to the EKY in forever I'm also pooped.

Friday night Shane and I were lucky enough to attend KET's annual fundraiser at Donamire Farm here in Lexington.

I wore this.

And stole this pic from kentucky.com of me and the hubs.

Saturday and Sunday we went to the pool and hung out.

And just because I love this picture of Carsyn so much...

Hope y'all had a great weekend!!

Memorial Day (and weekend)

I cannot believe Memorial weekend was last weekend. I have a feeling this summer is going to fly by and I'm not sure how I feel about that.

We had a busy Memorial weekend doing the usual- sunning, grilling, pooling and spending lots of time with family.

Friday night Carsyn and Maddox went to a little neighborhood party and watched a movie.

She was so excited!

Saturday we went shopping in Louisville with Rosie.

Sunday and Monday we had pool days.

Monday afternoon we went to my sister's for dinner and let the kiddos play outside.

Weekend recap

I may not be getting my blogging mojo back.. (Ahem I never did a recap of our spring break or Carsyn's birthday last fall), but I'm going to try to be more consistent with blogging about our little moments.  Even if my weekend recap scoots in on a Thursday.

Time is flying by and as much as I try to savor little moments I know someday they'll be faint little memories.

I think Carsyn's favorite place in the world is the shopping mall.  I credit that partly to the Disney Store and the Cheesecake Factory, but honestly the little girl likes getting dressed up and going somewhere.

Saturday evening we did just that.

I wore this.

I posted this pic on insta for a little sun glass poll.

And the majority of you liked the brown better so that's what I went with!

Sunday I met up with my sister for a walk.

She hooked me up with the prettiest peonies from her yard.

And I got to chase this little nugget around for a while.

Did I mention I let the hubby borrow my Fitbit for one day so he could prove that he was more active than me?

This is what his day looked like! Crazy cakes.  Who knew playing golf was such a workout?  I think he walked 6 miles!

I'm stepping up my game.

Mother's Day Weekend

Happy Monday folks!

Hope y'all had a great weekend!  The weather here has been absolutely beautiful and we spent a lot of time outdoors this weekend.

Friday Carsyn said she felt like taking me to get a mani pedi for Mother's Day which was really code for her getting her nails done.

We donned our matching Lilly and headed out.

Can I just insert a little flashback to my first Mother's Day as a momma right here?

Time flies mommas!! Enjoy those precious babies while you can!

Hank insists in laying in my lap the whole time.  Poor buddy.

Saturday we drove up to EKY.  I dropped the kiddos off to swim at my in laws and Shane went 4 wheeling with the boys so I could go to my friend Ricarda's makeup class.  We had so much fun.

We took Rosie out to dinner afterward.

Is my momma hot or what?!

MY MIL sent me this pic of Hank….he loves the pool so much.

We made it to church Sunday and met up with these beauties.

After church we went back to my in laws and swam a while. Lucky for me my MIL grabbed her phone early that morning and said I want pictures!! Its such a struggle with 2 little ones.

I took a photography class a month ago and still haven't been using my big camera like I wish..sigh.
