New Ride & New 'Do

When I was registering for a stroller my big sis said save your money because you'll want a Maclaren when Carsyn gets big and she was right! Love this stroller..it takes up so little room in the SUV, can be carried on a strap, and is stylish to boot!

Watercolor

Sooo, we're back from a much needed vacation...well actually we've been back awhile. Let me say "vacation" is totally different with a baby. Usually I sleep in a little and stay up late. Usually I eat way too much and read about 5 books. Usually I beat myself up for not working out. Occasionaly I'll divulge in a little too much wine consumption. This year I got up around 6 or 7 am, ran a couple of miles every day, read 1 book, managed to swig a seldom glass of wine and lost a few pounds. You know what- despite the fact I was completely exhausted, a touch sunburned, and extremely irritable I wouldn't trade it for anything. Little Miss Carsyn pretty much loved the beach, especially the taste of sand. Thank goodness we'll be heading back very shortly.

We visited Watercolor Resort for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised. The resort had great running trails and was within walking distance to Seaside, where I definitely could live. The only downfall to the area was the lack of good restaurants and the algae in the water. Normally I take a ton of pictures on vacation, but this year I just ended up with picture after picture of Carsyn on the beach. If you're interested here they are..

Carsyn is 9 months old!

Whoa Carsyn P, you are still growing too fast!! I cannot believe you are 9 months old.

We just got back from the beach with dad's family and it seemed you learned a new trick every day. Auntie taught you to squeal hi and wave when you see people and they say hi. Its so funny. Now when we ask if the baby is sick you can cough on command. While you loved playing pee pie, patticake is your new favorite. You can clap and throw them away, but have yet to master rolling them up. You are a timid crawler and are officially taking several little crawl steps at a time. Dad has also caught you cruising a little also. You love being in your stroller and could ride for hours.

You are still tiny and not hardly 16 lbs. You are wearing 6 and 9 month clothing and a few 12 month. Speaking of clothing you love getting dressed up. I swear when momma puts you in a foofie outfit you squeal in delight. You say da-da all day long and very few ma-mas. You are also saying na-na a lot.

You like to eat, but do not have a voracious appetite. You love your fruits and any combination of peaches, bananas, and apricots. Besides sweet potatoes you pretty much despise your veggies. Still not a fan of puffs and due to the fact you are still toothless momma has been leery of giving you other hard foods. Please let the tooth come soon as you are still waking momma most nights of the week. Thank goodness you will sleep until about 8:00 after waking once. Well, besides vacation when you decided to get up at 6:00 every morning-TORTURE!

You absolutely adore being the center of attention and will lean out of high chairs and strollers in attempt to get people to notice you. You love babies, especially your cousins Maddox and Ella.



Carsyn, you are the most loving, sweet little girl and I am forever grateful to be your momma. We love you more than words can say!

Daddy Love

I'm not a very mushy person, but I do have to give a shout out to my sweet husband and say happy father's day. Carsyn just adores her daddy and clearly the feeling is mutual. Love you honey!

Sunday

I don't know about you but Sunday is probably my favorite day of the week. Here lately it has involved church, pool time, and an afternoon nap. I am so happy to finally find a church I am growing to love. Everyone is just so sweet and welcoming and I could listen to the pastor for hours. Also, I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy getting dressed up.

After church the hubby was sweet enough to watch baby girl and let me get some quiet pool time and grocery shopping done. I cooked dinner for the first time in FOREVER.



We had salmon patties and peas from the garden and its probably one of our favorite meals. I really enjoy cooking and would love to cook a big Sunday dinner every week, but lots of times I'm just too lazy.

I usually wrap up the weekend with a glass of California Chardonnay and the RHOOC..



The only thing that would make the day better would be an extra hour or two in the day to squeeze in more family time. What's your favorite day of the week?

What's on my mind

* Reality TV is becoming all I watch. I'm addicted to The Voice. And of course all of the Real Housewives series. OC has been sort of a snooze fest this season but Jersey never fails to entertain. Does anyone else think something is a little off with Melissa? I'm excited for America's Got Talent!

* Arnold Schwarzenegger is so lame. I seriously wanted to throw up after catching a glimpse of him in Kindergarten Cop recently. Ok, I was watching... It was kind of a cute movie.

* Memorial Weekend used to mean carefree time at the lake. This year it involved lots of pressure washing, some naps, baby's first dip in the pool, and purchasing an SUV big enough to haul a pack n play, exersaucer, and basically the whole house in.

* My email and facebook accounts were both recently hacked. I don't know what upsets me more, the fact they were hacked, or the fact msn nor facebook has made any attempt to resolve the issue.

* For those who were wondering-I did not recently take a surprise trip to the United Kingdom and get mugged leaving me to only communicate via facebook and email-see above. And if you were concerned about me, thanks.

* Why do I think I'll magically be tanned and skinny by the time vacation rolls around every year? I am a fair skinned 31 year old woman. It is what it is.

* Carsyn is still toothless.. Dear tooth fairy Gods, I'm ready for the tooth. Especially if this means an end to my drooling, moaning, sporadic napping, skinny, not so hungry child.

* My Keurig is officially broke. Ironically my Cuisinart is out of commission also.. Momma not happy. If anyone knows how to de-mold the Cuisinart or make the Keurig stop flashing Not Ready please let me know!!

* I do 1800 loads of laundry a day.. Am I the only one?

* I'm way too excited about the custom Starbucks cold cup I just purchased. Is it crazy to be happy about writing your name and beverage of choice in pink?
