Vlog, Shellac, Tan, Baby Bangs, & Juicy Love

It is with an insurmountable amount of embarrassment that I humbly post my first vlog. I thought maybe I should wait until I'm a little more polished or at least am having a good hair day, but that would not be real. Unfortunately, the frizzy haired, country-twanged girl you see is me. I'm so uncomfortable in front of a camera its just not normal-I'm going to try to be better about that. Also, my cousin says everyone from EKY talks like they have a mouth full of marbles and he's totally right so shall we overlook that?? Great, thanks!





As an avid reader of Shasta's blog Carsyn and I were so happy she gave some Juicy love recently!

Carsyn is 7 months old

What?! This is crazy..stop growing so fast Carsyn, please!

You weigh 14 lbs and 2 oz and are 26 1/2" long. Everyone who sees you remarks how long your legs are. So far that and your blue eyes are the only thing you got from momma. Speaking of momma you still love your momma, but are making your way back to being a daddy's girl. When momma feeds you before bedtime you act like the old stone cold Steve Austin in wrestle mania and try to win the match, but when daddy feeds you its a whole different story. You curl up in his lap and fall asleep as soon as its done.

Speaking of bottles you could quit the bottle all together at this point and move on to real food. You LOVE food!! Bananas, sweet potatoes, and pears are your favorites. You despise carrots and peas are not too far behind.

You love to play and the jumperoo is your favorite toy ever. You jumped for an hour the other night and fell asleep in the jumperoo. Speaking of sleep its not much fun to you anymore. Naps are cool, but you have been waking up at all times of the night for the last few weeks. Still no teeth, but momma is praying its something that will come to an end soon.

Carsyn, as always you are the bright part of mommy's day and as she sings to you all of the time you are her sunshine, her only sunshine-love you baby girl!!

Cause little girls can be pimpin too

Y'all read pink lou lou's blog, right? If not you're missing out. A while back Brooke did a post on blinging out your drinking cups which I thought was just too cute. In the baby world its all about bpa free. Unfortunately I didn't know this and gasp- bought some pacis that were not. Now don't you worry I disposed of those promptly and assure you all plastics in our household are now bpa free. When we started baby girl on real food everything I read said to heat food in clear glass containers...what?!?! Baby girl only eats from her peter rabbit bowls, a clear glass bowl is not her style!! So, we ventured to hobby lobby and found a way to "pimp out" her bowl.






I know this is far from perfection, but it was made with love. Now, I'm just waiting to read about the paint I used being toxic or something. (You know, like when I was about 8 months pregnant and decided painting with acrylic was totally safe until I read the label about 1 month ago that said pregnant ladies should not inhale).

The Great Outdoors

It hit near 90 degrees in KY this weekend and we took advantage and visited the Natural Bridge State Park. We strapped baby girl in the baby bjorn and started what I thought would be an easy 3/4 mile uphill hike.



I definitely am not in as good of shape as I thought I was and we had to make several stops. Of course the hubby loved taking pics of me huffing and puffing..





Finally we reached the top..

and Carsyn loved it..she really had a ball..


(You may notice I have the shellac on my nails here. The color I picked is a little pale, but otherwise I love it. I'll let you ladies know how long it lasts!)

Spring!

As I was sipping my first iced green tea latte of the season the other day I was thinking how I cannot believe Spring is already here-I am so ready!! While its my least favorite season its still a lovely season and I know Summer is just around the corner.





(I am aware the dark nail polish has got to go, but I'm awaiting the arrival of my shellac and am so excited-have you tried this yet?)

The local grocery store is beginnning to carry flowers in all sorts of Spring-y colors and I love looking at these every morning.

Also, Carsyn has already been sporting her tank top and flip flops..

The redbud, apple, and pear trees are in bloom in East KY and its supposed to reach the mid 80s this weekend! I'm definitely getting outside. Are you ready for warm weather? What's your favorite thing about Spring?

Little Bunny Foo-Foo

If the fashion highlight of your adult life is shopping for your wedding dress and that of your adolescent or teenage years a prom gown, then that would most surely leave the Easter dress for your youth. I remember shopping for my Easter dress with my mom on many occasions and often I would match my cousin Kyle and my favorite doll. I can't wait to shop with Carsyn, but this year mom got to pick out the dress for her Easter portrait all by herself.



I am so in love with this little dress and the little girl in it. Of course you may recognize Carsyn's favorite pose in the photo below. We affectionately named it "the sprawl".




Carsyn also met the Easter bunny this weekend and it was love at first sight.

Dance Cinderella Dance!

If you look up sore loser in the dictionary you'll likely see a photo of me. You probably know by now how pumped I was for the UK game Saturday night. We had a "jorts" party at my MIL & FIL's house and Carsyn and I dressed the part.

Unfortunately no one else got the memo it was a jorts party, but the hubby and BIL did sport t-shirts..





How upset am I that we lost??? Majorly people, majorly! With that being said we went today for Carsyn's Easter photo shoot and it was so much fun..I can't wait to show y'all a sneak peek soon. Til then I hope Butler beats the socks off those nasty huskies ;) While I don't consider Butler a "Cinderella" team anymore I will be pulling for them tomorrow night. Go Bulldogs!
