Drinking the Koolaid

I guess I'm a follower. I'd like to think of myself as a strong, independent leader but maybe I'm more the opposite. I'm a make no apologies about it product junkie. You know how they say when you buy a new item you should throw one out? Not in this house. I hoard my beauty products. I anticipate the InStyle best beauty buys issue way in advance and tear out the little cheat sheet for future purchases. I'm not really an expert but by now I think we all know if you've never tried Nars blush in orgasm or if you haven't had Chanel Vamp or OPI Lincoln Park After Dark on your nails at least once you might be living in a cave. You know what happens when you have a little one?? Well you kinda start living in a cave. At least I have in certain ways. So here are a few beauty products that have finally sucked me in.. And a Life Planner to boot. Have you heard about the Erin Condren Life Planner ;)

I am the last person in America to get the naked palette. Why? Because I have 18000 eye shadows. But I caved eventually. Have you tried it? It's sparkly wonderment-love!

I have watched about 800 infomercials and 500 hours of qvc talking about the Wen products. My hair is still in rough shape after the kiddo. The new growth is so frizzy and it feels drier than it was before. I've been using the Wen for about a month. People have been telling me my hair looks good but maybe that's just because I went 12 weeks without color last time-yikes. My hair does feel healthier, I'm just not sure I'm sold yet.

Lastly, the Life Planner- It's cute, tough, & fun to use. I just wish it had an address book. Then again that gives me an excuse to order another item! You need to go order one of these stat ladies! Trust me, you'll love it!

What have you recently purchased that you must share with others? Tell me so I can run out and get it!

Day 12 & Beauty

My beauty favorites

I have really enjoyed reading everyone's beauty secrets over at Kellys Korner. In spite of what my mom might think (she might have hinted I smelled like spoiled milk after I might have mentioned Carsyn spitting up on me last week) I like to smell good! My favorite perfumes are by Chanel-Coco Mademoiselle is my favorite and No 5 is a close second. After snapping a pic I realized I'm almost out of my Mademoiselle and I might give Chance a try next time. I also really love anything by Philosophy and use pure grace every day.

As far as makeup I'm always trying something new, but my all time favorites are nothing you probably have not heard of before.
* Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer-the best out there in my opinion
* Nars blush in orgasm-I think every girl in America should have this regardless of skin tone
* Lancome mascara-I cannot decide which is the best hypnose or definicils

I am trying out the Lancome éclat Miracle. The instructions read to mix with your foundation for a luminous glow. I'm dry so I'm hoping this really helps my skin's appearance.

Last, but not least is La Mer moisturizer. Sometimes in the summer I can use something else but my skin is so dry in the winter this is the only stuff that really works.

So what's your beauty secrets?

Days 10 & 11 Things I Love

I love to run. I love to sweat believe it or not and when I'm gross and completely dripping from finishing mile 6 I feel on top of the world. Of course I have to admit part of the reason I love to run is so that I can eat more of day 9's object of love and well frankly day 11 also (but we'll get to that later). I really started running about 10 years ago. I could barely go 1/2 mile but the adrenaline rush hooked me. I've ran 5ks and 10ks but have always wanted to accomplish a mini marathon. So far I get up to running about 9 miles and my body just can't go any further. Last year right before I found out I was pregnant I was at this point and now I think I'll never reach it again. I'm not putting any pressure on myself, but it's still on my to do list. Thankfully Carsyn has discovered Baby Mozart on DVD and I can prop her in front of the tv and she's completely content for about a half hour. See.....

As far as food goes this girl loves her some pizza. Plain cheese from Papa Johns to be exact. Have eaten a whole pie in one sitting.

Day 9-Things I Love & Wednesdays are for Weddings!

Do you love weddings? If so you should definitely be checking out Kentucky Girl. She started wedding Wednesday and I joined in because frankly there's only so much blogging about Carsyn I can do ;)

Today's theme is back in black-(I'm thinking perhaps my BIL might have influenced that??) I was trying to remember one bride which had a beautiful wedding gown with a black sash and after searching I discovered it was Pink.

Love, love, love that dress!! Monique Lhuillier..swoon

In keeping with things I love I'd have to say cake is a definite love in my life. What is better than wedding cake? After googling black wedding cakes I found several I actually like, wonder how they tasted?

One of the best wedding cakes I ever tasted was Shane's friend's wedding in Nashville. It was kind of heavy with a hint of lemon in the cake and a cream cheese icing....what was the best cake you've ever eaten?

Day 8- Things I Love

I love UK basketball. While I do not love this years team as much as last years I am a die hard fan-I bleed blue!

Remember this pic of baby girl decked out in her blue before she was a week old?

I had a pretty enjoyable college experience at UK and I think it has such a lovely campus. Though it does not rival the beauty of some campuses I think Memorial Hall is just one of the most picturesque buildings (I do not hold it against you that I almost failed Micro Econ there-it was a MWF 8:00am class-clearly Thursday nights are to blame).

Now if you'll excuse me while we whip up on some TN orange ;)
(please please TN let us win one)

Day 7-Things I love!

hmmm... how far behind am I?

First I had this gal..

Then this stuff..

Third was this..

Then fourth and fifth..

So on day 7 I'll add 2 in 1- Vacation & more specifically vacation to my favorite city in the world-Charleston, SC!!

I love vacation and look forward to it every year and every year we end up in the same place-Charleston, SC. We usually stay at IOP at Wild Dunes. I know where to eat, where to shop, where the beach isn't too crowded, where to golf. This year for our family vacation we are thinking of going somewhere else. So far we are thinking Destin. That scares me because of the long drive with baby girl, but I hear the water is beautiful. Any ideas or suggestions?

Things I Love & Dr Appt

First off- wow this is my 100 blog post!! I feel like I should give away something-stay tuned for that. If you are a reader or follower I really appreciate it. That may sound corny but it's true- your words of encouragement and compliments make my day.

So this is day 3 of things I love (sorry I started a day late). I really, really love coffee. I gave it up for the most part during my pregnancy- not because I was afraid of caffeine but because the smell of it made me ill. After I threw up a latte all over myself on the way to work one day I thought I'd never drink it again... Wrong! I had my first cup when I came home from the hospital and it was HEAVEN. I can't imagine life without it.

Today was Carsyn's 4 month checkup and things went great! She was up almost a pound from last visit. She is still a tiny little thing at 11lbs 12oz and she is an average 24.5 inches long. The Dr said I could start her on jar food anytime and I will probably start in a couple of weeks.. I'm thinking of making my own cause it seems fun.. Any thoughts or suggestions? Carsyn also had her shots today-2 sticks :(
She was a little trooper and finished her fit by the time we got out the door and was asleep by the time we got out of the parking lot.

I'm so happy tomorrow is Friday! Tell me about your exciting Superbowl plans!

A Few of My Favorite Things...

So, I have only been home with baby girl for a little over a week and I'm all ready to go back to work. (Of course lack of sleep has caused my brain to periodically shut down so dad would probably rather I stay home). Seriously, HSN is great! They have all kinds of crap that I do not need yet I find myself lusting over crystal candelabras. In between naps I peruse the latest burberry, juicy, cach cach, kellys kids, and le top (to name a few) offerings for baby girl on line. And speaking of on line shopping..momma cannot wait to go shopping for herself-well once I get rid of this post-partum belly jiggle. So, with all of that being said I would like to share a few of my favorite recent purchases.

Lancome Precious Cells & Oscillation Power Booster

I have the world's skimpiest eyelashes..and this helps. I bought both of them right before I had baby girl so I have not used them a lot, but so far I like what I see.

Burberry Diaper Bag

I have put a lot of thought into a diaper bag..do I need a large size, would I rather have one with more mobility...this, I decided was the one for me...thanks hubby ;)
Now, if only baby girl would grow into that beautiful dress!

MomAgenda

After hearing other bloggers rave about the momagenda I had my doubts, but they're right..best planner I've ever owned.

Last, but not least I can't resist adding a pic of baby girl snuggled in her favorite blanket...
