Hank is 2

Oh, sweet boy..where do I start?

That July day 2 years ago when we met you?

You had the most loving little personality! I swear you didn't cry the first 3 weeks of your life.

We brought you home and although it feels like yesterday it feels like forever ago that you were this tiny.

Your sister was quite curious about you.

And you've surely had your ups and downs the past 2 years, but boy is one thing for sure.  You love each other like crazy.  You've started reaching out to hold her hand and its the cutest thing ever.

Speaking of all of the current things you're doing…

Smiling!! You are the happiest, laughing boy.

You love to play with your trucks and trains.

You love to pretend build things.

You love books and love to be read to more than anything else.  Your favorite book is Hairy Bear.

You absolutely adore your blankie and take it everywhere.

You also love Mickey.  You watch him on TV along with your other favorites Little Einsteins & Octonauts.

You have really started talking lately.  Your current favorite phrase is "right there!"

You wake up most mornings saying "I love you mommy."

Then you want to "Get Carsy up!"

I think you are a momma's boy but when someone asks you usually reply with a different answer-Usually whoever is holding you!

You love to slide! You love to ride your 3 wheeler! You just love to play with anything outside!

Your favorite food is peanut butter and jelly with pizza being a close second.

You have the sweetest curls and when we ask where your curls are you point to your head and say "right here."

You love to give kisses right on the mouth.

Hank, the world is a better place because you are in it.  You bring sunshine and laughter wherever you are.  Please stay momma's sweet boy forever!

Weekend Recap and Ramblings

Just a little of what we've been up to...for memories sake and curious minds..

We stopped by the new house on Friday to look at a few things.  You can see our new shutters in the picture here.

We discovered all the windows were rotted recently (not sure if I've spoke of that before) and they will be replaced in a few weeks.  Fun stuff.  Not really.  But it is nice to see things finally coming together.  Promise I will be bombarding you with house photos once things are settled.

Speaking of the house from day 1 I've told W I wanted to paint the brick and he has emphatically said no.  Finally this weekend I think I got him on board.  I posted this pic on Insta and asked y'alls opinions.

I'm kind of scared, but I know I've always loved painted brick.  I think it adds such warmth and character.  For our style of home I'm thinking a white or lime wash.  Please, please leave me your thoughts and comments! I'm dying to talk to someone who has done it before.

We spent the weekend in the pool and I just realize each and every time we're in it how much I'm going to miss it.  I guess its just one of those things you take for granted.  We worked on getting the kids to swim a little without their puddle jumpers too.  After about 5 minutes we were all ready to put them back on :)

I can honestly say pre-kids I cared a little more about my appearance especially when going out in public. This weekend I hopped out of the pool threw on shades and a turband and ran to the grocery.  I might have prayed a little that I wouldn't run into anyone I knew.  This headband is really neat and its wired! The brand is Cult Gaia I believe.

Oh, and that lobster look I'm sorta rockin?  Pretty much due to the extreme heat this weekend.  And I realize 95 doesn't seem hot to some of you, but I could totally move to Alaska and be a happy camper.

We spend a lot of time weekends cooking and W grilled some chicken and veggies this weekend.  Carsyn said, "Oh lets put that on Insta!" and I might have cringed inwardly, but I laughed nonetheless.

She then wanted to do her own pic and it turned out pretty good if I say so myself.  I was dying when she moved her little Minnie cup over to be included.

I made the Pinterest dorito chicken casserole and it was quite tasty! You can find me pinning @kycoalwife.

Lastly, my sister and her family have been vacationing in Florida for 3 long weeks and we've missed them like crazy.  Thank goodness she sends me pics like these.

They're finally heading back and I can't wait to get my hands on sweet Emersyn and give Maddox a hug!

How about y'all?  Where are you or did you spend your summer vacation?

The Fourth and a Few Faves

Hey hey! Hope y'all had a fantastic holiday weekend.  We spent it recovering from the everlasting strep throat curse.

And basking in the sunny near perfect temps.

This could also be called the weekend Hank's red locks turned golden.  Sads.  And I think his curls are getting straighter too.  Little fella is growing up.

I paired my Lilly shorts with the dusk tank for my OOTD and I think its my new favorite.  You can dress it up or down.  It can be found here.  Or you can go visit my girl Rebecca at the Peppermint Palm.  Or call the sweet girls at The Pink Pelican.

And if anyone is searching for me a birthday present I'll take it in the Magenta Bazaar print.

Speaking of favorites, Rosie hooked me up with two of my latest obsessions.  The Gigi Uber Clutch and an Alex and Ani daughter bracelet.  I've seen so many bloggers carrying the Gigi bags and they look so pulled together.  I was pleasantly surprised by the roominess of this clutch.  And it can still be tucked in my Neverfull for trips.  I went with white because its so classic but all of the colors are gorgeous.  If you're in Lexington Monkees has a great selection!

So, how was your Fourth?  What are your latest obsessions?

Whats Going On

I think I started this blog post a week ago and never finished..oops..

Summer is here!
Summer is here!

The first day of summer was National Wear Lilly day and I might have been longing for this day way too long to dress Hanky in this hand me down from Maddox.

I mean is there anything cuter than a boy with dirty feet in a jon jon?

Well, maybe a boy holding his sister's hand.

We have made it to church quite a few Sundays in a row. Hooray!

We had Vacation Bible School last week and the kids had such a ball.

The theme was detective and the kids really got into it.

Of course Hank's favorite night was the carnival night.

Guess who has two thumbs and is getting a giant inflatable for his upcoming birthday?!

We also made a trip to visit my sweet MIL last week.  It is her last year of being a superintendent and we are so proud of her.  She is just the best and it was so nice to take her out for a retirement dinner.

So, every night we asked Carsyn what she learned from VBS.  One night she told us she learned Jesus was a zombie.  Of course I was mortified and told her that wasn't true and asked why she would say that.  She replied that he came back from the dead just like Billy in Hocus Pocus.

I'm so laying off the Halloween movies.  But she kind of got the point, right?
