Five

Hey friends…..Figured I'd share a little five on Friday with you..

ONE

I started this book on Saturday night and finished it on Monday night I think.

I read somewhere that Reese Witherspoon was making it into a movie and gosh I hope so.

Are y'all reading?  This is one I'd love to chat about.  Who do you think will play Mr. Larson in the movie?  What do you think about Ani?  Is she completely innocent?  Are you terrified of sending your babes to school like I am?

TWO

I am wearing this maxi dress in the above pic and have a feeling it will be on repeat all summer.  God bless the maxi dress…especially this one with a built in bra and cute little tie in the back.

THREE

It was Vacation Bible School at the church we used to attend this week and I took Carsyn for a few nights.  I tried to talk Hank into it but he was all "I gotta stay here and take care of my dogs and garden."

She had so much fun!

FOUR

When my bestie told me this makeup palette was infused with real chocolate I drove to the nearest Sephora to pick it up.

Dare I say I like it better than the Naked.  Did I mention it smells like CHOCOLATE??

FIVE

The kids still love eating at Palmers and feeding the ducks. We went last weekend and Rosie captured this pic.  Carsyn's excitement pretty much echoes the way I feel about summer finally being here.

Cheers to the weekend friends!! I'm linking up with April for Five on Friday as always.

Five on Friday

Friday!!!!
Friday!!!!!!!!
FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!

I asked Carsyn her favorite day of the week yesterday and she said "Wednesday. What's yours?" I said Saturday or Sunday because we spend time with daddy. And she said oh yeah. That's nice.

But Friday is pretty awesome too.  Wednesday is ballet day in case you were wondering.

Here's a few of my Friday favorites…

ONE

This song.  On repeat.

I apologize to my kids, my husband, and anyone else who happens to be in a car with me. I'm on a bit of an Eric church kick.  For some reason I like to listen to a certain artist over and over until I've basically memorized every word of every song.

Hey Mel! Remember that time I made you listen to e street radio for 8 straight hours. :)

TWO

Olivia Pope. What will my DVR do without you!?  Anyone else wanna chat about that crappy ending? #teamjake

And yes I'm using my fireplace in May. Do you know it's 62 degrees down here when we crank the A/C upstairs? Crazy cakes.

THREE

I love burning my Capri Blue candle from Anthro this time of year.  The scent really carries throughout the whole house.

FOUR

My Happy Everything mug pretty much goes everywhere with me.  It even makes green smoothies taste good. #sortof

FIVE

Hank is what you may call a bit of a finicky eater.  He likes what he likes and there's not much of a gray area.  He ate a pound of bacon yesterday.  Am I a bad parent for allowing him to do that?  I found a 3 lb (uhmmmm) slab at the grocery and was pumped.  He's going to be so happy!

SIX

Am I allowed to have 6?? I think so if it means including a pic of the kiddos.  They are really enjoying the weather this week!

Cheers to the weekend friends!

Five on Friday

ONE

I'm always the last person to hop on any bandwagon, but usually eventually do so I don't know why I prolong the inevitable.  I bought a fitbit in efforts to be less of a sloth.  I think it helps.  I look at that dang piece of rubber and am reminded it records my every move.  Or lack thereof.  I'm sure I'll be tired of it in a few weeks.

TWO

Speaking of being less of a sloth.  I finally dusted off the hubby's valentines day present #weareromantic and took her for a test drive.  I have to admit that my love/hate relationship with the treadmill is still on full force. I love the programs and the convenience…I hate being confined.

THREE

I'm still rocking to Eric Church as you can see from above.  Mel treated me to a concert last night and it was so good.  If you have a chance to see him live go.

(grainy concert photo to prove we were there)

I wore this.

And then got to the concert and realized we left this in the car.

Oops.

So I did what any good momma would do and tied it to the car door for my BIL to pick up and drop off to the hubs.

FOUR

I'm so excited for Mother's Day every year because it means matching Lilly for me and the munchkins.  My MIL makes Carsyn's AG doll a dress to match and she sent me the above pic today.  #insertallthesmilingemojis

FIVE

No matter how many new wines I try this is consistently my favorite red.  Maybe its just because it has jam in the title.

Happy Mother's Day weekend friends!

five

ONE

I'm an admitted planner addict, y'all know that, right?  One may think that means I'm organized but trust me I'm not.  Well, when Whitney English announced she was releasing a today and to do planner in March I wrote that little tidbit down and ordered promptly.

Isn't she a beaut?  I think there are still some pink available here.

TWO

One of the best things about living in Kentucky is horse racing.  We are headed to Keeneland tomorrow and I can't wait.  I'm thinking I'll wear this Laroque number I got last year.  I think its my all time favorite print.

THREE

Remember that holiday we celebrated recently?  I keep meaning to do an Easter post, but then I forget.  I"ll get on that this weekend.

FOUR

I am by no means current or hip when it comes to music.  My running play list often consists of classic rock and Bruce Springsteen. That being said I've always been a fan of alt rock.  Usually songs that the hubs makes fun of are my favorites.  Right now I'm listening to Peaches by In the Valley Below on repeat.

I have no idea why this band fascinates me so.  Maybe its the funky chemistry they have on stage or the fact that they wear the same outfits all the time.  Listen to it and let me know what you think.

FIVE

Remember when you were younger and your nightly ritual consisted of brushing your teeth and washing your face?  Well now I feel like my nightly ritual takes about 20 minutes.  Anyone else?  I think ever since I started to approach the downhill side to 40 panic started weighing in.

I wash my face then slather on a moisturizer.  Apply my latisse, then my firming creams and hand lotion.  Do you think all this stuff really works?  I mean is it really worth it as women what we go through?

Happy Friday everyone! I'm hopping over to Natasha's blog to catch up with everyone else's five.

five

ONE

When we went to Nashville  I had a lot of peeps ask about my jeans.  (on the left below).  These are actually 7 jeans from maybe 5 years ago?  They are called the Roxanne skinny and are frankly lower rise than what I'd like but the wash is pretty perfect so they haven't made the toss pile yet.  I can't find these exact ones, but here's a similar pair.

Pictured on the right are my newest jean obsession. The Current/Elliot Soho zip ankle stiletto.  Found here.  I love that they are super stretchy and are coated so they are more opaque than most white jeans.

TWO

I took the kids to see the Easter bunny yesterday and they were so excited! It was actually comical because last year Hank would not get within 50 yards and the year before Carsyn was terrified.

They both refused to sit on his lap though.

I rewarded them with a trip to the Cheesecake Factory afterwards.  People always give me funny looks when I eat out with them alone, but honestly they do really well for a 2 and 4 year old.  Or maybe they give me funny looks for taking selfless and sending to Rosie??

THREE

You may have noticed Hanky's new 'do in the Easter pic.  #insertsadface

It was time to give his curls another trim.

I promptly took him for a cupcake immediately after.

FOUR

I had to mention this.

Sorry if you are not a Kentucky basketball fan.  In summary we were scheduled to play WVU in a sweet sixteen tournament game last night and their players got a little braggy,  I think they basically said be prepared for our record to be 36-1.  That was basically the score at one point of the game as we blew them out of the water.  LOVE. MY. CATS.

FIVE

Every year I pack on the winter pounds.  This year was the worst ever.  I've been running like a mad woman and trying to eat healthier to get ready for summer.  Part of me wants to kick ass and get in the best shape of my life.  The other part of me wants to eat pizza and succumb to wearing swim dresses by the pool all year.  Tune in to see what happens..

Five

Still snowed in here so I figured I'd share a little Five on Friday with you.

~ONE~

I've been wanting to rearrange our basement family room for some time now.  Originally I wanted to keep it semi picked up and leave all of the kids toys in the playroom but its proving impossible.  So I decided to break it into two sections and let the kids have the back part.

My side.

Current state of their side.

Such a work in progress.  Any organization tips?

~TWO~

I've been trying to get my scrapbooks up to date and I ran across this little gem.

Carsyn at 20 months.  Whyyyyy must they grow up?

~THREE~

My MIL introduced me to this perfume a while back and after I went to the counter to test it I declined purchasing.  I received a gift card and finally decided to buy it this year and I'm so glad I did.  It smells so much better on. Treat yourself. Oh, and its called La vie set belle by Lancome.

~FOUR~

This Anthro piece has been my go to lately and its currently on sale.  Like major markdown.

I literally wore it around the house for 3 days in a row before the hubby called me out.

I also might throw it over my leather leggings and venture out in public.
They appear to be sold out in white, but I think I need the gray also.

~FIVE~

I love my hot rollers.  I'm aware its not the 90s.

I posted this pic on insta proclaiming my love and lots of you agreed.

You asked what kind I use.  I've tried them all and the Conair above are my favorite.
I don't have any secrets, but here are some thoughts.
Learn to master the pins included.  If you use a set that has clips I've found they create creases.  Not a good look.
Also. Roll your hair like you would with a curling iron.  Hold the roller at mid point of the strand, wrap the ends around and then roll up.

That's all I got folks!

Have a great weekend.  We are bracing ourselves for several more inches of snow.

Five

ONE

Moving is stressful and we haven't packed the first bag.

On a happier note I get awesome updates from the contractor via text (waves Mr Jackson)..

Like this one of our fireplace.

I'm so happy we whitewashed the brick. I posted this pic on insta and was kinda scared to ask thoughts but y'all loved it- so thanks. Now if I could only talk W into doing the sunroom....

TWO

We usually make a trip to Lexington once weekly and shop and eat out and check on house stuff. We had sushi last night and the kids were just crazier than normal. I blame the full moon. W was just amazingly patient and I tend to get frazzled.  I did snap this selfie because who doesn't want to share the fact their daughter was eating ketchup out of the bowl???

The words you're gonna miss this just keep echoing in my brain.

THREE

Speaking of kids I'm just so horribly behind working on the kid's scrapbooks. Like I lie awake at night thinking I'll never catch up!!! All their memories are gone!!! I should get out of bed and scrap at 3:00 am!!!!  I always thing I can rely on my blog posts when I do finally get time to catch up.  I'm trying to get back on board with my weekend recap but quite frankly it's boring. And repetitive. So here's a cute pic of the kids in their Sunday best. Which I do always try to capture..

Hopefully one day it will end up in a scrapbook.

FOUR

And speaking of scrapbook events we had a bestie pool day with our pals Ricarda and Kyria this week and it was just the thing I needed.  There's nothing better than gossiping with your girlfriend and watching your kids play together.

I'm always blown away by their love for one another.

FIVE

If you follow me on insta you know I'm a big fan of Matilda Jane clothing. And not only the little girl's line. I always find myself going back to their adult pieces.

I shared these OOTD pics with y'all because they are a few of my favorite pieces but truthfully I love them all.

Cheer to the weekend friends!

As always, I/m linking up with Darci and others for Five on Friday.
