Carsyn's Fall Festival-Part II

After we came up with the idea to do a fall festival I knew my parent's home was the perfect place.  I talked dad into making a corn maze and I actually think he loved every minute of creating it.  He was also happy to rig up the hay ride!  Hopefully the pictures here did the place justice.  It really is so pretty at mom and dad's and now you see why I go there as often as I do.  Carsyn has so much room to roam.

We had a great turnout and I hope everyone there enjoyed themselves as much as the birthday girl did!

My sister and SIL are the BEST aunts-they love my children as if they were their own.  They worked so hard on all of the details!

My sister even served everyone hot apple cider as the temperature dropped.

Kristi snuck in a little Hank time before the party started.

One of my favorite parts of the party was Shane's papaw Leon meeting Hank for the first time.

In all of the pictures that Carsyn is pointing she's pointing at the inflatable..Girl could not get enough of it!

Of course, she enjoyed presents also.

We were so happy sweet Havyn made an appearance.

We love little boxes!

Picking pumpkins is serious business!

Maddox is giving Robby advice for maneuvering through the corn maze.

Getting lost is half the fun!

Daddy and little man showing off his PBK!

Carsyn is so loved and so blessed to have such a wonderful group of family and friends share the day with her.

A big thanks to our parents and aunts and uncles who busted their butts hauling tables, making bows, and filling treat bags.

Carsyn's Fall Festival- part I

We celebrated Carsyn turning 2 with a fall festival this weekend!

I started perusing pinterest for some ideas for fall party decor a while back.  I knew I wanted a fall theme for Carsyn's party-pumpkins! fodder shocks! hayrides!  I loved how everything turned out.  In fact, I'm already thinking we'll keep the same theme for next year.  Stay tuned for more party pics.

Here are a few pins I used for inspiration-

I bought a few fake pumpkins at hobby lobby and painted them and also painted a few real ones.  My biggest piece of advice- SHARPIE PAINT PENS!! Here are the closeups-

Carsyn is 2 years old

I cannot believe I am writing that you are 2, baby girl.  Where does momma start?  How about with the fact that the last 2 years have been the best of her life..and daddy's too.  How about the fact that when you demand to spend the night with Rosie daddy and mommy sit at home bored and missing you to pieces?  How about the fact that your tantrums are trying, but kind of funny and your personality has anyone you meet immediately smitten with you?

You change every day Carsyn Presley!  You are our big girl...you dip your nuggets in barbecue and eat pizza like a big girl...sigh.  The other day you decided to eat your pizza crust first and I said "here, watch how mommy eats" instructing you to eat from the small part of the triangle.  You watched me, picked up your piece of pizza and said "here, watch how carsyn eats" and proceeded to eat it crust first.  You are so headstrong!

Your phrases and ability to memorize things blows us away.  You know all of your colors and the letters, H, M, C, B, and P.  You can sing every word to Itsy Bitsy Spider, Sesame Street,  and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.  You favorite phrases include "Mommy, put Hank night night," "What's mommy doing,""I sit big girl like mommy," "Come play with me, " "I wanna dance," and so many more.  You repeat everything we say! You are beginning to answer our questions like answering what you did today and what you had for supper.  You are an excellent communicator.  Currently if you throw a mini fit momma can talk you out of it real quick by bargaining.  We may have to leave the park, but momma promises you yogurt as a treat and you're instantly happy.

You love going anywhere!! When we get in the car, you say "Oh boy, Hobby Hobby!"  When we're not going there you ask if we're going to see Maddox or Rosie and Pops.  You also love going to Food City and cry when we pass up the turn and keep going.

Your favorite food is still yogurt, especially parfaits and frozen yogurt.  You like pizza, grilled cheese, mac and cheese, and chicken nuggets. You love anything sweet-honeybuns, cinnamon rolls, cookies, etc.

You are one long-legged lady Carsyn Presely!  You're still pretty tiny and weigh about 23 lbs, but your legs go for days-you are tall!

Your favorite toys are coloring books and anything with Minnie Mouse or Belle.  You still love playing outside.  You enjoy TV and all the shows on Disney Jr.  You are in love with Indiana Jones movies and Elvis movies.  You like to play with your little people doll house and say "Lets go play with peoples mommy!"

Mommy decided to put in a workout video a few weeks ago and thought it would be a good idea to call it dancing and get you excited so she could finish.  The plan backfired because you loved it.  You love squats and lunges and now walk to the TV and proclaim "mommy and Carsyn dance!" We should be in good shape and have buns of steel girlfriend!

You love everyone and having every one's attention.  You love Rosie and Pops and ask to go to their house every day.  You pick up your pretend phone and say "oh, hey Robbie, Krissy" and proceed to talk for a half an hour.  Your eyes light up at the mention of granny and papaw! When we get in the car you ask to go see Maddox, Mel, and Bryan.  Aunt Judy and your cousin Jamie adore you also, and boy do you love them! Especially when they let you run through mud puddles.

You love bath time! You pretend to swim and you take your washcloth and bath all your babies.  Ever since baby brother came along you take a baby everywhere you go.  You love giving them bottles.  You also love to take them potty and make sure they wash their hands.

You take one 2 hour nap a day around 1:30 or 2:00.  You go to bed around 9:30 and lay in your crib and play with your dolls for 30 minutes sometimes.  Its too cute.  Before you go to sleep we read your favorite stories, including Llama, Llama, Princess Carsyn, and Goodnight Charleston or Goodnight Chicago.  You insist on telling daddy and Hank nite nite and giving them kisses.  After we snuggle you in your crib you usually wave to us-its the sweetest thing.

Carsyn, we all love you so much and are so blessed to have you in our lives!

Hank is 2 months old!

Hank, momma's boy is growing, growing, growing.  I cannot believe its been 2 months since we brought home that little blue bundle.  Time really flies with the second child.

Speaking of second child, your relationship with your big sister is already blossoming.  You love to watch her and just smile and coo.  And Hanky-poo, or Hanky boo-boo, you might just be a little upset that she gave you those nicknames, but its too funny to make her stop now.

You have pretty much outgrown all of your newborn clothing.  You are currently wearing 3 month clothing.  You go to the dr in a week, but my guess is you weigh 12ish lbs.  You're still my little chunk, but it seems you are growing length wise too so you're not hardly "as broad as you are tall" anymore.

Your hair still seems to be reddish and your eyes are the bluest I've ever seen-they light up when we talk to you and especially when big sister is around.

As far as personality goes you are a pretty chill little fella.  You cry when you're hungry and otherwise you do not cry much at all.  You do just fine in your car seat and have went on many hour and 2 hour trips without a whimper.  Thanks, little buddy.  You like your paci, but I do not think you will be as addicted to it as big sis.

You are a very alert little man! In fact, you are a terrific sleeper, but not so great napper.  I think you don't want to miss what's going on.  You take sporadic naps during the day, but never longer than an hour or hour and a half period.  I look forward to you having a nap schedule little man.

Every night we wrap you up in your little swaddle blanket and lay you in your crib.  You usually go straight to sleep without a peep and sleep from 10-5.  You've made it to 6 a few times.  After feeding you, you go back to your crib and snooze until 7.  You usually wake up around then and you and momma snuggle on the sofa until Carsyn wakes up around 9.  Hopefully this means you are not an early bird because those just don't fit in our family.  As far as napping goes you take mini naps anywhere- on the rug in Carsyn's room, in the pack and play, or on the sofa.  You used to prefer your stomach, but now you seem most content on your back.

Of course momma is still nursing you-you're a champion eater.  Currently you eat at 9,1,5,9, and 5.  You don't mind taking a bottle from anyone and when you do you usually drain between 4 and 5 ozs. I love nursing you little man and hope to continue for a year, just like we did with big sister.

Hank, momma, daddy, and Carsyn love you to the moon and back-thanks for making our family complete!
