Weekend Recap…Also Known as Too Many Pics at the AG Store

Woohoo!! Carsyn's birthday weekend finally arrived and we headed to Nashville to check out their new American Girl Store.

First, we celebrated at school with ice cream and sprinkles and I got to read a book favorite to Carsyn's class.  We chose Camila the Cupcake Fairy because Camilla turns five just like Carsyn.

We were in the car that week discussing what book we would read and she said "Mom, can you do me a favor?  When you come to class can you not wear your workout clothes?  And maybe wear cute shoes and makeup?"  Guess we are entering the phase where mommy's appearance matters too.

Poor kid.  I obliged that day, but am proud to say I rocked the "mom uniform" yoga pants this morning.

Rosie and I picked the kids up from school Thursday and headed straight to Nashville.

We had dinner at The Factory, our favorite place and took our pics on the big rocking chair.

(We missed you May family!)

We got into our PJs and got some sleep before the big day.

We went to the store first thing and had such a wonderful experience.

Rosie hooked Carsyn up with some Grace goodies.

And I sat with Hank a little while he blatantly ignored everything in the store and played manly games on the iPad.

We had lunch at the cafe.

And had a quick wardrobe change before leaving.

Exhausting!

Saturday afternoon we met some friends for froyo.

Couldn't leave home without our sisters.

Finally, on Sunday we headed to EKY for Kyria's glammed up spa party birthday.

Love these littles so much.

And this gorgeous momma too.

And to think, we still have Carsyn's birthday party this weekend!

Carsyn is 4

My sweet, darling girl.  I cannot believe you are four.

Where has the time gone?

How did you become such a big girl?

You love being a big girl.  Its so sweet but it breaks momma's heart at the same time.

I've been trying to get rid of your paci for a while but you kept telling me you needed it to sleep and would get rid of it when you're four.

Sure enough you proclaimed the morning of your birthday you were giving it to your little cousin Emersyn and you haven't looked back.

You love to pretend and have the most vivid imagination. You pretend you have friends and you're all going to a ball.  You pretend a silver box is your phone and text and take pictures.

You love lip gloss and just being a girl.

You love your barbies and dolls and love playing dress up with them.

You love your baby brother and almost always give in to him to make him happy (or avoid being tackled or choked).

You love to snuggle.

You love to be read to.

All in all you are just the sweetest little girl and we felt you deserved the best birthday ever.

We started the day in Cincinatti shopping with Rosie and Hank.

We hit up Tiffany's and Saks..

I think you love to shop more than Rosie!

Of course you had to stop to reapply your lipstick several times.

We had lunch at Rock Bottom and you and Hank played around the fountain some.

We spent the rest of the day celebrating at Chuck E Cheese with Maddox and his family.

You had cake..

Played games..

And even tried your luck at the ticket blaster..

It was truly a great day.

Love you Carsyn! Please stay momma and daddy's sweet girl forever!

Carsyn's Minnie Festival

Back…ahem…6 or so months ago Carsyn turned 3 and we celebrated with a Minnie Party.  Everyone loved the fall theme from last year so we went with it and painted pumpkins pink.

We placed ears at the entrance of the party and placed pink and purple polka dots down the path leading to the tables.

We had glitter tattoos and a cupcake walk for the kids.  They could care less about the cupcake walk but loved the tattoos.

Carsyn was the one who actually decided the kids tables should have cupcakes and polka dotted table cloths.

I thought some nice fall food would be perfect this year and decided to do a chili bar.  The downside- it was about 90 degrees in the sun.  The upside was everyone said they really enjoyed it.

We just had finger foods and drinks on the other table.

We served strawberry lemonade and handed out Minnie cookie for party favors.

Of course we kept with the traditional hay ride, corn maze, and pumpkin picking.

Did I mention the highlight of the party was the May clan visiting?! I cannot believe this year there will be 4 of them!

So I say every year I missed getting a picture of a certain person or group of people and this year W took over the camera.  And while I'm grateful, it also means we did not a single family picture.

Carsyn enjoyed herself so much.  She couldn't stop smiling all day.

And Hank was such a trooper. He ate cake and got loved on from granny and his aunts!

I say it all of the time, but I'm just so blessed to be this little girl's momma!

Happy birthday Carsyn…I can't wait to paint pumpkins silver and white this year.  Here's to hoping Uncle Robby and Pops can grow a pumpkin big enough to turn into a carriage.
