Memorial Weekend

Did y'all have a nice, long Memorial Weekend?

We had a very low key weekend with the kids at home and did absolutely no traveling.  Pretty nice for a change!

I took the kids to the park Friday night and posted this picture of Hank on Insta.

I mean is that the face of pure joy or what?  When I go to the park I want to be one of those cool (and by cool I mean completely oblivious to the fact their child is a raging bully that throws mulch, pushes kids down and hogs the slide) moms that just chill on a bench somewhere talking on their phone or chatting with others.

Instead I'm the crazy, uptight mom frantically running around and yelling "don't run!' "watch out!" "wait your turn!" "where's your brother?" "you're too close to the water!" "wait, where's your sister?" to really enjoy any of it.  Its honestly the longest hour of. my. life.

Do you feel me on that?

We made it to church this weekend and I got some cute pics of the kids on the front steps in one of those rare moments they loved each other.

We had the best weather this weekend and got to enjoy some pool time.  Carsyn went off the diving board for the first time.

Carsyn has really never been scared of the pool.  When she was Hank's age she would just sit on the steps and play with pool toys.  She was afraid to go any further and would not wear floaties so I was ok with that.  I usually just sat in the water with her. Last year I really tried to get her to swim without floaties and it was too hard.  She got very comfortable wearing her puddle jumper and was swimming all around the pool before summer was over.  I figured Hank would love the pool and splash around but he was having none of it.  I barely got him on the first step.  Cracks me up because I always think of him as my fearless one.

Monday we got dressed up in our patriotic gear and went out to eat with Rosie.

And I completely stole my OOTN from Pinterest.

And I already ordered the matching shorts to Carsyn's dress but I really want the dress too.  Have y'all seen it?  Is it cute?

And speaking of cute, how cute is Rosie's dress?  I'm totally stealing it I think.

Moving right along..I'm off to pick out paint colors for the new house today.
I really need some light, happy colors in the blue and green family. Any suggestions?

We have dress rehearsal for Carsyn Thursday and Friday night is recital night!! I'm so nervous for my girl.  She loves, loves, loves dancing but told me last week she got a little nervous up on that stage.  Broke my momma heart a little.  Can y'all say a little prayer for my sweet girl to calm her nerves?  That'd be great!

Weekend Stuff

This was a busy, busy weekend but I've learned being busy means bedtime gets pushed back and baby girl sleeps in. Soooooo sleeping til 10 the past 2 mornings means a well rested momma :)

We took a much needed day off work Friday and went to Walmart. I hate Walmart and have learned Carsyn is at the age she wants everything. Fun. We left with a ball and Minnie Mouse lawn chair. Girl would not let go of the ball.

Saturday morning we played dress up with Minnie Mouse.

I had a dinner on Saturday night and got dressed up a little. I know getting dressed up will come to an end very shortly. sigh.

I left baby girl in capable hands with my inlaws and made the drive to Lexington solo. What do you do in the car alone mommas? I rock out to KOL!

I got into town early enough to drop in on my big sis and have some latte/girl talk time. Gosh, I wish we lived closer.

I'm still rocking the bright coral on my nails. I still love the gel mani, but good gracious HATE the time it takes to soak it off. Is this a minor complaint or do y'all have a secret method of getting it off?

Our Weekend

With summer winding down I'm trying to spend as much time in the pool with baby girl as possible. She is such a little waterdog :)

I'm beyond ready for fall fashion, but I hate to say goodbye to my summer staple-the maxi dress. I got this little beauty off the INC sale rack at Macys for $29..

(please forgive the playmat in the background..I have boxes of stuff baby girl has outgrown I need to pack away..sigh)

I was so inspired reading what Shauna did to her pantry I decided to tackle my own this weekend.

Before..

Work In Progress..

I have a little more work to do but here's a little breakdown so far..

I put all of Carsyn's goodies on a tray on the bottom shelf. She's outgrown most of her baby food, but I still have a few left.

I picked up these OXO containers for dry goods like cereal, snacks, pasta, etc..

I also have a tray for our grownup snacks...ritz crackerfuls and granola bars..exciting stuff! :)

I wish I could get more ambitious and paint and repalce the shelves but I feel better just getting organized.

The perfect weekend ends with a run for me..

Night Out With Kenny

A while back my sister called me and said I got you tickets to Kenny Chesney and you're going and I'm watching Carsyn. I sure couldn't say no to that and I knew Carsyn would be in the best hands!!

Maddox was so sweet with her- My sis said he held her hand all night and clearly she just adores him.

I think I've seen Kenny about 5 times and he never fails to disappoint. I am actually a bigger fan of old school country and was ecstatic when George Jones came out to sing He Stopped Loving Her Today! We went to the concert with my SIL and BIL and had such a good time-we were all singing, dancing fools and the night went by way too fast.

My OOTN-

(The hubby told me I looked like one of the girls from Austin Powers, but I love getting chances to dress up and wear my boots!)

Carsyn and her daddy hanging out before the show..

I think I could do an entire post on concerts and artists on my bucket list to see- A few include Bruce Springsteen, Jimmy Buffet, Neil Young, & Robert Earl Keen. Who's on your concert must see list?
