But First a Farewell

ITS MOVING DAY!!!!!!

This little blog has been neglected lately because packing up a whole house is hard y'all! And if you've done it before I know you feel me on that.

I'm a mix of emotions right now.

Excited about the future and our new house and living in the same town as my sister.

Yet sad to leave our old house behind.

And all of the memories it held.

Christmas time..

and the 10' live Christmas tree W cussed me every year for insisting upon.

My first Mother's Day..

Carsyn's nursery..

and her big girl room..

Bringing Hank home..

Hank's nursery..

Playing with the babes in the pool..

 And having poolside picnics..

Our playroom which we spent 90% of our time..

The front porch where we watched thunderstorms and posed for our Sunday morning pic..

Bye little house!! We are going to miss you!  And by we I mean I -the kids haven't looked back and W is stoked about being on a golf course!

Project Pinterest

Are you a pinning machine?  I go through spurts of pinning, but I try to be pretty selective and pin only things I'm serious about.

When AP announced she was going to hold herself accountable I knew I'd try to join.  Will I be cooking a pinterest recipe every night? No (sorry hubby), but I would like to share the few pinterest projects I actually complete.

I have a thing for window seats and have pinned several.  This was one of my favorites.  I love the lighting and the big moulding around the window.

We had a room in our house just at the top of the landing which I called our TV room.  It was ugly, y'all.  When we found out we were having Hank the hubby convinced me we needed to turn the TV room into a playroom and our formal living room into a family room.  I knew he was right, but I didn't want an ugly playroom.  I still wanted a space the whole family could enjoy.

I whipped out this pin and showed it to the carpenter emphasizing our need for storage.  Here's what we came up with.

I'm so in love with this room.  We honestly spend 75% of our time here (and no its never this clean).  I love that so many of the kids toys finally have a place to go.

Carsyn can actually go to the shelf and pull down her tote to get to things inside.  We use these a lot-Its so handy to grab one when we go somewhere overnight and take some toys with us.

I use the cabinets along the bottom to store puzzles, coloring books, and the kids DVDS.  Again, Carsyn has access so when she want to play puzzles she can go and get them out herself.

The biggest change I made from the picture was opting for a toy box under the window seat instead of the open baskets- Some junk is just better out of sight.

So, let's see what you're pinning- go link up with the adorable AP!

Holiday Open House/Sip & See

This weekend we hosted a sip n see/holiday open house at our home. It was so much fun! I love parties..everything from decorating to menu planning to getting dressed up. I wanted to post a few pics of our holiday decorations first..

The tree..

Entryway...

(Can you see Sophie the giraffe in Carsyn's stocking?)

Dining Area...

I have been collecting the pottery barn reindeer collection for years..Blitzen is my favorite!

A few favorite things....

My big sis bought these cute reindeer leg covers at Pier 1..she's such a good shopper

I try to keep fresh flowers throughout the house....and you can see my favorite Hot Maple Toddy candle in this pic...along with the "must have" December In Style issue

I also put out all of my Christmas books and try to make the guest bedroom a little more festive

Tree in Carsyn's room..

did you notice her elf on a shelf has made an appearance??

I have a slight obsession with the Coton Colors ornaments..they are so cute!! I love the ones on Carsyn's tree but my favorite is probably the one on our trees in our family room...

The hubby doesn't care for white lights or my foofie tree so every year I put all of our sentimental ornaments on little trees with green and red lights..

UK tree...

more Coton Colors..

Finally outside...I think the outside of my house is pretty boring, but figured I'd snap a pic since I had to venture out in the snow to walk Elvis anyway..

I cut some pine sprigs from trees outside and put them in lanterns with candles..of course I'm afraid to light the candles because I might burn the house down..but the idea was nice anyway

and if you're still hanging in there onto the sip n see...

Something told me I should snap a pic of Carsyn's cute dress without her in it because I figured it would be over her head the whole night...and I was right..

naptime with uncle Robby....

I added Carsyn's monthly pig pictures to our celebrate display..

(thanks to the fabulous ashley brooke for the sip n see invite!)

drinks..

coffee bar...

food...

my favorite people...

unfortunately the best picture we got of Carsyn was when she finally tuckered out..
