This and That

Is Summer supposed to be crazy busy?? Because I thought it was time to sit back and relax and instead I feel like there's always so many things to do.

We try to visit the outdoor theatre close to my hometown every summer.

This year they did an performance of Shrek and the kids loved it.  Heck, we all loved it.

Aren't they the sweetest?

Speaking of my hometown…We also ventured to EKY one weekend for my cousin, Kyle's wedding.

I might have taken more pics of the kids than the actual bride and groom.

In case you don't know this is my gorgeous sister, my sweet aunt (mother of the groom), fabulous Rosie, my beautiful cousin, and myself.  It was such a fun and beautiful wedding.  I have never seen my cousin. Kyle happier.  We were all thinking of my beloved grandmother and how happy she would have been on this day.

Otherwise we've been hanging out the pool when its not raining (i.e. every single day) and doing a little shopping with Rosie.

On a good note rainy days mean we pretty much have the pool to ourselves and I can catch up on a little reading.

And how cute are my little summer sidekicks?

Here are two of my favorite summer dresses that will be on repeat..

And here are two of my partners in crime at our favorite shopping destination.

Have y'all checked out the newest Lilly stuff?  I LOVE it all and am happy to say I think their sizing is back on point!

Happy Thursday friends!! We are off to the pool! (If it doesn't rain)

Five

Hey friends…..Figured I'd share a little five on Friday with you..

ONE

I started this book on Saturday night and finished it on Monday night I think.

I read somewhere that Reese Witherspoon was making it into a movie and gosh I hope so.

Are y'all reading?  This is one I'd love to chat about.  Who do you think will play Mr. Larson in the movie?  What do you think about Ani?  Is she completely innocent?  Are you terrified of sending your babes to school like I am?

TWO

I am wearing this maxi dress in the above pic and have a feeling it will be on repeat all summer.  God bless the maxi dress…especially this one with a built in bra and cute little tie in the back.

THREE

It was Vacation Bible School at the church we used to attend this week and I took Carsyn for a few nights.  I tried to talk Hank into it but he was all "I gotta stay here and take care of my dogs and garden."

She had so much fun!

FOUR

When my bestie told me this makeup palette was infused with real chocolate I drove to the nearest Sephora to pick it up.

Dare I say I like it better than the Naked.  Did I mention it smells like CHOCOLATE??

FIVE

The kids still love eating at Palmers and feeding the ducks. We went last weekend and Rosie captured this pic.  Carsyn's excitement pretty much echoes the way I feel about summer finally being here.

Cheers to the weekend friends!! I'm linking up with April for Five on Friday as always.

Lately

Thought it would be nice to do a little update of sorts of what our January has looked like.

Carsyn has been falling asleep on the sofa next to me most nights.  I know I need to get back to the norm with bedtime routines, but its pretty nice to have the snuggle buddy.

Hank got a much needed first haircut last week!

Look at my big boy!

Cupcake reward from Rosie!

We got our first decent snow and Carsyn and I ventured out to play and left the boys inside.  They're such wimps when it come to cold weather!

Hank does like to watch from inside though!

We had a little girl's night out with my bestie and friends for the Miranda Lambert concert.

I totally tried to pull of my look that night without the leggings, but Carsyn came in my room and said "Mom! You forgot your pants!"  Sooooooo leggings it was!

Y'all know I miss my Rosie something terrible, but she visits us a lot and I make sure to get the kids out of their pjs and have them waiting on her when she comes through the door.  They get so excited!

The Fourth and a Few Faves

Hey hey! Hope y'all had a fantastic holiday weekend.  We spent it recovering from the everlasting strep throat curse.

And basking in the sunny near perfect temps.

This could also be called the weekend Hank's red locks turned golden.  Sads.  And I think his curls are getting straighter too.  Little fella is growing up.

I paired my Lilly shorts with the dusk tank for my OOTD and I think its my new favorite.  You can dress it up or down.  It can be found here.  Or you can go visit my girl Rebecca at the Peppermint Palm.  Or call the sweet girls at The Pink Pelican.

And if anyone is searching for me a birthday present I'll take it in the Magenta Bazaar print.

Speaking of favorites, Rosie hooked me up with two of my latest obsessions.  The Gigi Uber Clutch and an Alex and Ani daughter bracelet.  I've seen so many bloggers carrying the Gigi bags and they look so pulled together.  I was pleasantly surprised by the roominess of this clutch.  And it can still be tucked in my Neverfull for trips.  I went with white because its so classic but all of the colors are gorgeous.  If you're in Lexington Monkees has a great selection!

So, how was your Fourth?  What are your latest obsessions?

Five

ONE

Moving is stressful and we haven't packed the first bag.

On a happier note I get awesome updates from the contractor via text (waves Mr Jackson)..

Like this one of our fireplace.

I'm so happy we whitewashed the brick. I posted this pic on insta and was kinda scared to ask thoughts but y'all loved it- so thanks. Now if I could only talk W into doing the sunroom....

TWO

We usually make a trip to Lexington once weekly and shop and eat out and check on house stuff. We had sushi last night and the kids were just crazier than normal. I blame the full moon. W was just amazingly patient and I tend to get frazzled.  I did snap this selfie because who doesn't want to share the fact their daughter was eating ketchup out of the bowl???

The words you're gonna miss this just keep echoing in my brain.

THREE

Speaking of kids I'm just so horribly behind working on the kid's scrapbooks. Like I lie awake at night thinking I'll never catch up!!! All their memories are gone!!! I should get out of bed and scrap at 3:00 am!!!!  I always thing I can rely on my blog posts when I do finally get time to catch up.  I'm trying to get back on board with my weekend recap but quite frankly it's boring. And repetitive. So here's a cute pic of the kids in their Sunday best. Which I do always try to capture..

Hopefully one day it will end up in a scrapbook.

FOUR

And speaking of scrapbook events we had a bestie pool day with our pals Ricarda and Kyria this week and it was just the thing I needed.  There's nothing better than gossiping with your girlfriend and watching your kids play together.

I'm always blown away by their love for one another.

FIVE

If you follow me on insta you know I'm a big fan of Matilda Jane clothing. And not only the little girl's line. I always find myself going back to their adult pieces.

I shared these OOTD pics with y'all because they are a few of my favorite pieces but truthfully I love them all.

Cheer to the weekend friends!

As always, I/m linking up with Darci and others for Five on Friday.

Five

ONE

I realize I never added pictures of Christmas decor on the blog this year.  Pretty much the same ole, same ole.  But here's a few for memories sake.

Entry

Living Room

Big Tree

Kitchen

Playroom

Upstairs

TWO

I plan on doing a full blown Christmas picture recap…(that's for you Rosie) but here's my two favorites…Which pretty much sum up Hank and Carsyn's Christmas highs.

On Christmas Eve Hank sat in a box and ate Doritos for about a half hour.

And the one thing Carsyn repeatedly asked for was a pink phone and she was so excited to receive it.

THREE

I know some of you are OOTD fans are some are not but I figured I'd share some of my holiday outfits with y'all-especially since some of you asked questions and I might not have gotten a chance to answer.

This dress is Tory Burch and has been marked down considerably several times.  Please don't be concerned that Carsyn refuses to wear pants.  I'm told its a phase.

Sweater is Lilly Pulitzer, Skirt is Jcrew, and Plaid shirt is Jcrew factory.  Boots are ancient..Dan Post I think.

Sweater, shirt, and skirt all Jcrew.  Tory Burch Azalea flats..On sale now I believe.  Cup courtesy of Sbux and the fabulous Amber, who needs to get her sexy self back to blogging ASAP.

Dress and Sweater are Lilly Pulitzer.  Boots and bag are Tory Burch (thanks W!)  Arm party is a mess of silver and gold- y'all do that, right?

I am sorry if that was uninteresting or TMI.  Or are y'all curious sometimes and hate asking?  Or would you like less selfies?  I think W needs to start being my photographer?  ;)

FOUR

I am addicted to the Josie Maran Moroccan Line.  Please go get you some.

FIVE

I feel icky when I don't run and today was no exception.  I laced up my new Frees and did a few miles tonight.  For anyone that was wondering- Nike Frees are the best.  You need to size up.  All leopard prints can be found at Zappos.

As always, I'm linking up with the adorable Darci and others for five on Friday…on Saturday.
