Thoughtless Thursday

Photobucket

I figured I would do a post on Thoughtless Thursday, but really I'm not so sure its thoughtless as much as something I tend to think about all of the time.

This is a picture of my big sis, myself, and cousin on vacation..As you can tell I was not at all camera shy!

Thinking back to my childhood always makes me wonder...What will my baby girl be like?? Will she have my demeanor or my husband's? I am told when I was little I was not shy at all, always a comedian, and very self confident. As I get older I find myself losing my confidence..is this something we all go through or just my personality altering as I go through life?

Maddox Turns 2

My nephew recently turned 2 (they grow up so fast) and we celebrated at my mom and dad's with a The Little Engine That Could theme.

My sister filled jars with trains (Maddox's favorite thing)and displayed train cookies and train themed gift bags. The kids all took home a copy of the book.

Friendship Friday- A Little About Me

Thanks to Lauren at That 22 Yr Old Housewife (love that title) I decided to post a few things you may or may not know about me:

1. I'm a tall drink of water..5'11" to be exact
2. I'm proudly married to a "coal miner"..though he does not work underground every day any more
3. I work for my dad running a small HVAC company, but my dream is to own a clothing boutique
4. I'm deathly, unhealthily afraid of labor....6 more weeks..gasp!!
5. I jot down ideas that pop in my head everywhere...from what to cook for dinner to future baby names to neat web sites (I am trying to be more organized about this)
6. I love Bruce Springsteen....the obsession is a problem for many people
7. I talk to my mom and sister everyday...multiple times..its only getting worse.

Please post and tell me things about yourself!!!

Happy Birthday Baylor!!

Yesterday I attended Baylor's one year birthday party. Baylor is my friend Meghan's little girl (or angel as I'd like to say because seriously this little beauty is as sweet as they come).

She didn't even want to tear her cake apart- she just dipped her fingers in the icing for a few tastes.

Unfortunately I did not get any pictures of her cute tutu outfit, but I did get one of me and Meghan before I left.

After the party I visited my sister because she was at a family reunion nearby. We are gearing up for my nephew's birthday party next weekend. I then went and visited my sister and brother-in-law on their houseboat and was presently surprised to find my mother and father-in-law as well. It was great spending time with them but we stayed out a little past my bedtime....I think that's my cue to go take a nice Sunday nap!

Happy Birthday Elvis!

My little man is 7 years old today!! I remember when we first brought him home-he was so tiny and his little ear was still flopped...

I've dressed him up for the Christmas card every year...

and today he's still my best friend...

Happy Birthday Elvis! Mommy loves you and prays you'll love your little sister when she arrives!

To Beat the Heat

I don't know what part of the country you live in, but here in KY it has been HOT!! Combine near 100 degree days with a pregnant lady and the result is not good. So far I can think of few things providing comfort-

1. Swimming pool = bliss

2. Cold desserts (which = the reason you don't see my pregnant self in above picture)

This is my attempt at the Southern Living Lemonade pie featured in the August issue..YUMMY!!! I still prefer Key Lime, but this is a close second.

3. Speedway Coke Freeze (boo for the fact my Sonic closed last year)

Hope everyone is enjoying this nice, hot summer!

Baked Penne a la Williams Sonoma

So I made the baked penne with corn, zucchini, and basil using all the fresh veggies my hard working farming friends and family have been giving me...Result- pretty tasty!

I will include a picture of mine and the one from the Williams Sonoma web site..

For some reason my creations never look as good as advertised..
Wish I could say the hubby highly recommends it also, but he's allergic to anything that contains too many veggies and lacks of red meat ;)

Here's the link if you'd like to try for yourself:
