Casa de Carsyn!

It's only fitting that I share pictures of Carsyn's room after we've moved her, but the new room is pretty much the same. Her room is honestly my favorite in the house and believe me, I've spent many hours in that glider!

If you want to know where anything came from just let me know!

Ahoy! A sprinkle for baby boy

My sweet SIL and MIL hosted a sprinkle for baby boy on Sunday.  Despite the heat it was a great day filled with love and laughter.  I'm pretty much the luckiest girl in the world because I adore each and every person who showed up that day.

They did a nautical theme and everything turned out so very cute!

Does this little redhead remind you of anyone?  She could totally be the girl in Brave, right?

Carsyn was really excited that day and ended up taking a little nap in the middle of festivities.  She kept my SIL and aunt really busy.  Speaking of SIL she worked so hard that day and even ended up in the pool with baby girl so I didn't get a pic of us together-sad!  I hate when I don't get pictures of people!

Carsyn was screaming "dress off!" in this picture because she wanted to get in the pool so badly!  And of course her wish was B and Uncle Robby's command!

One guess where Maddox was...

She loves aunt Mel!

We had such a wonderful day!  Thanks to all that attended!

Some Quick Things

Its hot here...dang hot! Heat never bothers me, but at this point I'm ready to wear a bikini all day long.  Me, near 9 months pregnant, bikini, pretty picture, huh?
My family hosted a sprinkle for baby boy Sunday and I almost died.  I'm pretty much rocking any strapless dress that fits now days. And the side pony or braid.

My appetite is slowly decreasing as all I want to eat is ice cream and salad.  But, Carsyn hooked daddy up with some grilling tools for father's day including this little gem.

The result is perfectly crispy grilled quesadillas-yummy!

I highly recommend you head to your nearest Williams Sonoma and purchase.

We are slowly working on rearranging Carsyn's new room and getting her old room ready for baby boy.  I got the closet organized this weekend and feel so much better.  She's all settled in, but we have a lot to do in the baby's room.

I tweeted a picture of Carsyn eating ice cream last week and everyone loved that little romper.  Its Tea and we picked it up at Nordstrom.  They have really cute play clothes in my opinion!

Also, those crab outfits y'all asked about were Le' Za Me.  I don't know if they're available this year because mom picked them out for the kiddos last year and they were too big for them to wear.  Note to self-that brand runs large!  Carsyn is wearing a 12 month and Maddox is wearing a 3T-bizarre!

I suppose that's enough random for your Tuesday :)

Carsyn is 21 months old

Carsyn, you are 21 months old...1 month away from being a big sister and 3 months away from being 2.  I don't like it one bit.  You are growing too fast!!

You love to color, you love stickers, you love to splash in the pool, but your favorite thing to do is simply walk.  You'll grab some one's hand and say "let's go!"  Usually its Rosie, Judy, Mel, Granny, or Auntie.  You like to walk and see the horses at Rosie and Pops.  You love making sounds and can mimic horses (nay), cows (moo), cats (meow), dogs (arf arf), frogs (ribbit), birds (tweet tweet), ducks (quack quack), and chickens (bock bock).  We are working on colors and right now everything is red, yellow, blue, pink, purple.  You can count to 10 omitting 7 and 8-does that count? ;)  You know all the characters on Mickey Mouse.  You even know Jesse, Charlie, Austin, Ally, and China from the Disney channel.  Guess you like your comedies.

You are still quite the talker and love to ask questions and answer them...."where's mommy at? I don't know. Where's daddy at?  work."  Usually our questions are answered with a no.  Anything you want to do is "ok".

You take a nice 1 1/2 to 2 hour nap around 1 or 2 every day.  Sometimes you sleep longer if we've been playing hard!  You go to bed around 8:30 or 9:00 and get up around 8:30.  You are such a good little sleeper...except on the go.  You will not sleep in the car seat AT ALL.  Your stroller naps are usually reduced to around 45 minutes.

Your appetite has been increasing lately, thank goodness.  Your favorite things are yogurt, chicken nuggets, ice cream, and cookies.  And anything chocolate.  Your sweet tooth is never ending.  You are beginning to branch out and enjoy most fruits now also.  You've been eating grapes, watermelon, and blueberries! Yum!

You're fashion obsessed like mommy.  Daddy says this is not good.  I think its quite hilarious.  Some days you cry "I want dress on" and refuse to wear pants.  And do not take you shoe shopping unless you're prepared to buy!  Every time we try on shoes you insist on wearing them out of the store.  Then for the next few days you will say "I want new shoes" refusing to wear any old ones.  It doesn't stop there either..you love women's shoes to and try to wear mommy's around the house.  While mommy was perusing at the Peppermint Palm the other day you had such a fun time.  Were you interested in the toy table in the back? Nope.  Girl went straight for the shoes.

Thank goodness they're used to you by now!

Carsyn, you're unique to the core and mommy and daddy would not change a single thing about you.  You are perfect in our eyes and always will be.  You are so very loved and everyone agrees how blessed we are to have you.  So, stay little forever, ok?

Family Fun

Maddox came to visit this past weekend and the kiddos had so much fun together! They definitely keep us on our toes...I'm glad my sister has lots of energy.  They swam their little hearts out!

But, can someone tell me why they are SO HAPPY naked or running around in their undies....

but, the minute you put them in matching cute outfits they get, well.....crabby?

Unless, of course you let Maddox play baseball.  I swear the kid keeps a bat or glove in his hand and he's really good.  I'm not biased, I promise ;)

We hung out at papaw and granny's this weekend too.  Carsyn is going through the stage where sitting and eating isn't really fun.  She'd just rather have her food on the go.  She carried around a roll for an hour that day! Hilarious!

I love weekends with family and my little girl!

Dear Daddy

Dad, we're pretty much two peas in a pod.  You think we butt heads sometimes, but really-its because we're just alike.  From our skinny little legs to our quick temper we have too many similarities to count.

I love weekends when you get up with me and we watch Phineas and Ferb, and eat pancakes.  I ask for you first thing every morning during the week.  Mommy tells me you're at work.  Boo!  That means no playing outside. You always take me outside as soon as I finish breakfast and we play in the dirt and the pool!

Daddy, you've never lost your patience with me.  Ever.  That's awesome! I know my little hissy fits may not be cute to everyone, but you think they are.

We have so much fun playing "I get you" together and chasing each other around.  You are also really good at hanging me upside down while I squeal with laughter.

Another thing that's great is your cookie stash! Its never ending.  I don't know why mommy denies me sometimes.

Thanks for being my pal, dad, my cuddle buddy, my hero.  There's a reason my eyes light up at the mention of your name.  Its because I LOVE YOU!

Love, Carsyn Presley

Dear Pops

Dear pops, I am so lucky to have you for a dad!

Thank you for always being there for me.  For attending my boring tennis matches when I was in high school.  For cheering me on at basketball games when I rarely played and never scored.  For never being too tired to shoot hoops when you got home from working late.  For showing all of your buddies what a good little underground swimmer I was (though I think I nearly drowned showing off to make you proud)!  For cutting up my steak for dinner.

Thank you for teaching me the value of a dollar.  For telling me daily to never get above my raising.  For reminding me that these years are the best years of my life.  For showing me its never to late in life to follow your dream.  For teaching me that working hard often leads to great success.  For showing me the pride to be had in growing a garden.

Thank you for being you- the best dad a girl could ask for.  I adore you pops!

Fluff for Friday

Mom has been splurging and picking me up some Laura Mercier bath products when she's around a Nordstrom. Can you say spoiled? Seriously, these are the most divine fragrances ever.

I took a much needed day off work and stayed at home on Wednesday. When I had Carsyn I scaled back to going into work 2-3 days a week and gradually that increased back to 4-5. Now when I have a day off its loaded with Dr Appts and errands so it was nice to have a day at home. Mom and my aunt Judy came and stained my outdoor furniture and Carsyn and I splashed in the pool. She went from her pjs to a bikini back to pjs. I really enjoy days with nowhere to go.

I also grilled my favorite chicken for dinner. Do y'all love jerk chicken? We do!

I'm amidst reading James Patterson's Guilty Wives and its really good. I love a good page turner though I'm not always fond of his endings- I'm a sucker for a happy ending.

Did you catch the premiere of Dallas? I love me some JR Ewing! I really enjoyed the episode and think the show will last a while. I'm not sure I would have loved it without the original cast members though.

I was ridiculously excited about the new Erin Condren Life Planner which went on sale Wednesday. Mine is looking a little worn.

I can't wait to see all of the new features- I love being organized!

It's another hot one today and I'm heading to mom and dads to spend the day with Maddox and my sister frolicking in the pool.

Whoa momma!!

Is It Enough?

I'm not going to lie. Lately I've been envisioning baby boy's arrival and with it the inability to devote my attention to both kid's needs.  Simply put, I'm afraid Carsyn will not love me anymore. I fear daddy, Judy, or Rosie will take my place. It saddens me. She's my baby girl and the thought of her needing me and me not being there KILLS me. Thank goodness God gave me a boy this go round because I guess I wasn't ready to let Carsyn relinquish the baby girl title just yet ;)  Now when she falls or feels bad and whines "I want mommy" I run to her rescue.  I relish it.  Its MY THING as her momma.  Is that instinct?  Is that just what she's familiar with?  I don't know and I don't care because at that moment I know I'm what she needs.  And being needed? That is the best feeling!

Don't get me wrong, Carsyn loves everyone and while she's still a momma's girl she gets more attention from aunties, grannies, papaws, and aunt Judy than one can imagine. Everyone in the family has reassured me that she will not lack for attention once the boy comes along. I know that. I just want to be able to divide my time and attention fairly.  Is being her mom in title enough?  Am I...gasp....replaceable?

And, if she goes through a little Rosie or Granny or Judy or Daddy or whomever preference? Well, I guess that's ok.  Most are telling me my hands will be full enough and my mind will find other things to worry about ;)
